"The ice island is 37 metres (120ft) thick and measures 9 miles by 3 miles" - is that a common island size Forfi? To break away I mean. That's a huge lunk of ice. Could be hazardous to ships, even whales?

n.Icebergs used to big a big hazard in the North Atlantic in the last century, don't hear much a bout them now. [remember the Titanic?]

One of the photos kinda remind me of Ayers rock, a big slab of rectangular ice in the middle of an ocean. Amazing images.

“While the melting of Antarctic ice shelves is contributing to rising sea levels and other climate change dynamics in complex ways, this additional role of removing carbon from the atmosphere may have implications for global climate models that need to be further studied,” added Smith.

I thought the above quote is interesting.

Glowing clouds at the edge of space

Nasa has a new view of enigmatic glowing clouds that may be linked to climate change, reports Roger Highfield

They hover on the edge of space. Thin, wispy clouds, glowing electric blue. Some scientists think these mysterious clouds are seeded by space dust. Others suspect they're a telltale sign of global warming.

and then consider that Global Cooling [ in the form of the little ice age] killed off British wine making all those years ago [the romans had large vineyards in Britain.]
So what is the point that these guys are making?

Europe is famous of it's wines, the only wind vineyards in Asia is found in Thailand I think. How devastating is global cooling to crops, mate?
